Meet Yuka & Komerin
Hi, I’m Yuka 👋 Born and raised in Japan, spent a few years in Australia, and now live in San Diego, California. I've always loved helping friends, family, and colleagues explore my home country, sharing insights and hidden gems only a local would know. My professional backbone is in business development and project management, with a focus on cross-cultural collaboration between Japan and the world. Over the years, I’ve traveled back and forth between Japan for both work and personal reasons, deepening my connection to its culture and passion for travel.Komerin Japan is my passion project inspired by my late grandmother’s minshuku, a small guesthouse (named Komerin 米林) she ran in a quiet fishing village in Hyogo, Japan. She was (always will be) my role model. So I aim to carry her spirit into every journey I help create, offering thoughtful, personalized travel experiences filled with meaningful moments that stay long after the trip is over.

The first is to build a community of like-minded people who care about culture and meaningful connections. A space to share stories, ideas, and support each other even before or after the trip.
The second is to one day bring my grandmother’s minshuku guesthouse back to life in rural Japan. a cozy place where people can slow down, feel a sense of belonging, and want to return to again and again.If either of these speaks to you, I’d love for you to be part of it.
